Onefootball is the ultimate media platform that enables football fans to get their daily dose of news and scores wherever they are, created by a team of professionals from more than 35 different countries. With +30 engineers based in the heart of Berlin, our mission is to tell the world’s football stories through a stable, scalable and reliable stack. On a monthly base, we reach +30 Million passionate football fans all over the world.

At Onefootball, you will be working in agile, cross functional and self-organized teams. Our Web Engineers take care of the user-facing products as well as internal tools exploring different approaches to different problems, and driving the evolution of our products. We stay up to date with the latest technologies while being careful with the current browser’s limitations. We believe engineers write code for other engineers and not just for machines, therefore we celebrate clean and smart code!

Onefootball tells the world’s football stories and it’s the News team responsibility to make sure those stories are heard. We bring millions of fans their daily football content: our systems process more than 20000 pieces every day from news websites, social media accounts, award winning blogs and our own newsroom of 40 journalists to make sure that our users enjoy a personalized experience relevant to their tastes.

Your role

  • Develop, maintain, and support our blogging platform based on WordPress Network,
  • Work closely with our editorial team to understand their needs and improve the way we tell stories,
  • Contribute code and ideas to our internal content managements tools,
  • Bootstrap new web-based projects when needed and share your knowledge with the rest of the company.

Your profile

  • You know how to develop and maintain plugins and themes for WordPress,
  • You have several years of experience in web development (CSS, Javascript, and HTML) both for mobile platforms and desktop, and using modern frameworks (Symfony, Rails, or Django),
  • Ideally, you also have experience with recent frontend framework (AngularJS or Angular, React, or Ember),
  • Knowledge of CSS preprocessors (SASS or LESS), tasks runners (grunt, gulp, brunch), ECMAScript 2015, TypeScript, or node.js is a plus,
  • You care about clean code and documentation and understand the benefits of testing,
  • You know how to share your ideas as well as give and receive feedback.
